Create festive and delightful Christmas Chocolate Trees using rich dark chocolate, pretzel sticks for trunks, and colorful sprinkles for decoration. This easy no-bake treat is perfect for holiday parties and makes a charming edible decoration.

Ingredients

Scale

Chocolate Trees

  • 200 grams dark chocolate
  • 50 grams white chocolate
  • 1/4 cup mini colorful sprinkles
  • 8 pieces pretzel sticks

Instructions

  1. Prepare Baking Tray: Line a baking tray with parchment paper to prevent the chocolate from sticking and to make lifting the trees easy once set.
  2. Melt Dark Chocolate: Melt the dark chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl by heating in short bursts of 20-30 seconds and stirring in between, or melt over a double boiler until smooth and fully melted.
  3. Pipe Tree Shapes: Spoon the melted dark chocolate into a piping bag or a zip-top bag with a small corner cut off. Pipe tree shapes about 3 inches tall and 2 inches wide onto the parchment paper. Ensure the bottom of each tree overlaps an 8-inch pretzel stick to serve as the trunk.
  4. Melt White Chocolate: In a separate bowl, melt the white chocolate using the same method as the dark chocolate until smooth. Drizzle over the chocolate trees to create a snow-like effect.
  5. Decorate with Sprinkles: While the white chocolate is still wet, immediately scatter mini colorful sprinkles over the trees to decorate and add festive color.
  6. Set the Trees: Allow the chocolate trees to set at room temperature or refrigerate them for 15-20 minutes until firm and solid.
  7. Serve: Carefully peel the chocolate trees off the parchment paper and arrange them on a festive platter for serving or gift presentation.

Notes

  • Using a piping bag makes shaping easier, but a small spoon can also be used if needed.
  • If you prefer, you can substitute pretzel sticks with breadsticks or candy canes for the trunk.
  • Store the finished trees in an airtight container at room temperature away from heat and humidity for up to one week.
  • Double boiler method: Place a heatproof bowl over simmering water and stir chocolate until melted smoothly.
  • You can customize decoration with other edible decorations like crushed candy canes or edible glitter.
