4.6 from 144 reviews

This creamy and flavorful Olive Dip combines green olives with a blend of cream cheese, mayonnaise, and mozzarella, enhanced by a blend of Italian seasoning and spices. Perfect as a party appetizer or snack, it pairs wonderfully with crackers, chips, or fresh vegetables. The dip is easy to make with just a food processor and benefits from chilling to allow the flavors to meld.

Ingredients

Scale

Main Ingredients

  • 10 ounces green olives with pimento, drained (can use sliced or whole)
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ½ cup sour cream
  • 1 tablespoon red wine vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon smoked paprika
  • ½ teaspoon kosher salt, to taste (may not be needed if olives are very salty)

Optional Garnish

  • Whole or sliced olives
  • Green onions
  • Parsley

Instructions

  1. Combine Ingredients: Place green olives, cream cheese, mayonnaise, shredded mozzarella, sour cream, red wine vinegar, Italian seasoning, onion powder, garlic powder, black pepper, and smoked paprika into a food processor.
  2. Process the Dip: Blend the mixture until you achieve your desired smoothness, scraping down the sides of the processor bowl as needed. The dip can be made perfectly smooth or left slightly chunky according to your preference. Taste and add kosher salt if necessary.
  3. Chill: Transfer the prepared olive dip into a serving bowl. Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight to allow the flavors to fully develop and meld.
  4. Serve: Serve chilled with crackers, chips, or fresh vegetables. Garnish optionally with additional whole or sliced olives, chopped green onions, and parsley for a fresh presentation.

Notes

  • Storage: Store the olive dip in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
  • Freezing is not recommended as it may affect the texture and flavor.
  • Salt should be added cautiously because olives can be quite salty.
