Base
- 1 (8 oz) block cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1 (8 oz) container frozen whipped topping, thawed
Mix-ins
- 1 cup chopped pecans, divided
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips, divided
Toppings
- 1/3 cup caramel dip
- 1/3 cup chocolate syrup
- Prepare the base: In a medium mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese and powdered sugar. Mix thoroughly until the texture is smooth and creamy, ensuring all lumps are removed.
- Fold in whipped topping and mix-ins: Gently fold the thawed whipped topping into the cream cheese mixture. Then incorporate ¾ cup of chopped pecans and ¾ cup of semi-sweet chocolate chips evenly into the mixture, taking care not to deflate the whipped topping.
- Transfer and spread dip: Transfer the creamy mixture into a 9-inch pie plate, spreading it out into an even layer with a spatula to create a smooth surface.
- Warm caramel and drizzle: Slightly warm the caramel dip in the microwave for about 10-15 seconds until just easier to drizzle (be careful not to overheat). Drizzle both the warmed caramel and chocolate syrup over the top of the cheesecake dip in an appealing pattern.
- Add final toppings: Sprinkle the remaining ¼ cup chopped pecans and ¼ cup semi-sweet chocolate chips evenly over the drizzled caramel and chocolate syrup to finish the presentation.
- Serve: Enjoy the dip immediately with fresh fruit, graham crackers, or pretzels, or cover and refrigerate until ready to serve. For best texture, serve within 24 hours.
Notes
- You can substitute chopped walnuts or almonds for pecans if desired.
- Use full-fat cream cheese for best texture and flavor.
- Chill the dip before serving to firm it up and enhance flavors.
- Serve with dippers like apple slices, graham crackers, pretzels, or vanilla wafers.
- For a nut-free version, omit pecans and add extra chocolate chips or toffee bits.
